Hey folks, we have added a new link that I think you will find helpful. At the bottom of every thread, between the <<previous Thread and the Next Thread>> links, we have added a "New Posts" link. This is the same link found at the top of the page. This helps when one is reading the new posts. Instead of scrolling to the top to click new posts, now it is right below where you have finished reading your current thread. Enjoy!

    Cheers!

    Default a few other additions...

Now that you are getting used to the Multi-Quote function upgrade here on the forum, I would like to direct your attention to a few other new features that you may or may not be aware of since our upgrade.

    Instant Marking forums Read
You can now quickly mark specific forums read by double clicking on their icon on the forum page. This will instantly mark the forum read (also changing the icon to represent this) -- all without a single page reload.

    Quote tags link to post

When you quote a post, a link to that post is automatically created. This is useful when you want to see an entire post or see the post in context. (I have noticed that users who use IE [internet explorer] get a little red X instead of “VIEW POST” as the link to the original quoted message. I am not sure how to fix this just yet, but I am working on it. Another reason I use Firefox.

    Rate threads instantly
When you rate a thread via the drop down menu, it will be done instantly-- before your eyes without any page loads. This is because of the software feature called ‘ajax’. Programming folks will know what I am talking about. Ajax really improves speed on the forum.

Attachments in threads available in pop-up on listing
You don't even have to go into a thread to view attachments anymore. Just click on the little red paper-clip icon and a pop-up will appear listing the attachments. This is very helpful if you have already read a thread, but wanted to quickly view the photos/ attachments again.

Private Messages now support BCC [blind carbon copy]
You can now send PM's with CC's and/or BCC's. The maximum limit still applies for regular members.

    Pause/Resume attachment downloading
You can now pause / resume attachment downloads. Though you might not find this feature useful all of the time, users on dial-up downloading large images will surly make use of it!

Additionally, we are working on an esteemed member user group that will have additional features and expanded privileges. More on this as we get closer to launching it.

Thanks to everyone who makes this forum such a great place to hang out and learn about growing and blooming our orchids!

    Cheers!
