My Confetti bloom lasted at least 2, if not 3 weeks and was slightly fragrant to boot. Very nice if you (I) can keep them cool and moist! I think it is too dry for it...not a surprise but hey, one won't know until they try, no?
Do you grow yours in a clay pot?

I've upped the watering to every day. We'll see how it takes it. Looks better to me already, actually.

No, I don't know...it's been really warm and the bark has been dry (I'm using the skewer) and I've recently really increased the air flow in that area. It's just the last couple of days that I've watered it twice in a row. I'm watching it and watering when it seems dry, not just every day no matter what. Sorry, didn't make that clear. Remember it is in bark too...

Ok, as long as those are the conditions--just don't forget to cut back when it's not quite as hot! Really easy to get into a routine, and keep going even when it isn't appropriate any more.

Didn't mean to cut ya off at the pass, there.....

Thanks Louis! Masdies were a real gamble for me and I think I should likely repot this one in sphag (I know! Me? Considering Sphag??) My potting media is a fine seedling mix and the pot is only 2.5" so it just heats up fast, and since I added the larger fan (after the *dreaded bacterial roth* scare!) I've noticed it drying out faster. It is summer too. BTW, I have this in a violet pot w/ water in the inner chamber to keep it cool, and sphag lining the the inner chamber, that the plastic pot sits in. So it is plenty humid.

Both these leaves have straightened out almost completely and I have a couple more new ones coming up. I also just ordered some nice NZ sphag, so will repot into that in the not too distant future. Actually both my masdies are growing a lot. Are there rules about when to or when to not repot? I imagine there are. They seem to have a pretty continuous growing cycle. My Confetti, which bloomed in May, put out leaves at the same time as the spike and is continuing to do so.
