Default My first Phragmipedium and it is blooming!

This is my first Phrag, I purchased it in beginning spike and it now has 2 spikes and 2 blooms open. It is Andean Fire (besseae Red x indlevanum 'Birchwood' AMS/AOS) Sometimes it look like a deep pink and other times it looks orange, depending on the lighting. It looks like the colors in a desert sunset.

Katie - It is beautiful! I especially the second photo. The bloom seems to shimmer!

Congrats, Katie, it is beautiful. I'm still trying to get my first little phrag to survive. I'll show her your Andean Fire - I'm sure it will inspire her!

Very nice, Katie! And a great job blooming her! Keep the pot in fresh water and you should get blooms for some time.

What do you mean by keeping the pot in fresh water?
