Default ideas on the size and color of the bloom , and how to grow babies Catts. faster

i bought a 2 inch pot of seedlings 2 years ago, its still pretty small, but they are getting bigger by the day!
I can't wait to see the blooms someday ( couple more years , can't wait)
    the Cross is :
Lc. Rosette Warland x C. Netrasiri Beauty

please tell me anything you know about either one of the parents
i really want to know the possible bloom size, color , shape and pattern
any other extra information would be great too!

the biggest seedling is growing its 4th psuedobulb(still very tiny ones).. hope i can get couple more soon so i can get some flowers

i don't have a green house or anything. ( am only 17 years old) only have water tray and couple plants
right now, i am trying to make sure i give my baby catts enough light, dont' know what else i should watch for to make them grow faster

all my orchids are in medium/largeish fir bark

    any tips are appreciated

Lc. Rosette Warland - pink/purple many small blooms
    C. Netrasiri Beauty - white/creamy full blooms

You should get pink blooms with multiple blooms I would think. The sepals should be a different shade from the petals. It's hard to predict what you will get sometimes. This is a mini-cattleya so you will be fine with a good windowsill and I believe they will bloom sooner. Growing orchids does not require a greenhouse, I don't have one.

17 you're too young to be here! JK I was 17 when I joined the forum.

yeah, I want to get one or two blooming size Catts (i LOVE THEM more than anything else, maybe except roses. but roses have throns) from a local store, they won't cost more than $20 each, but the local stores only have the small bloom ones, i want ones that have big flowers.

If anyone know any cheap, good vendor with cheap shipping fee please PM me ( i seriously think there should be a thread for people requesting PM of vendor names, they just need to write a post and then people can shot PM of vendor names at then)

where are you from? I know a cheap Canadian vendor, but if you are somewhere else there are silly orchid regulations preventing the crossing of borders

There are many members from CA that can help you. Ask Diane to send you a gift I heard the weather was a little cold recently but you can grow orchids outside too with your nice weather

Here is a Netrasiri Beauty cross from a member here. It's really nice.

I think your plants are still 2 years from blooming. I grow some mini catts - probably have 20, another 25 or so that are in between mini and standard. The smallest blooming minis I have matured at about 8" height. Are you sure yours are only 4"? I have some about 10 years old that are still in 3" pots, so they don't get big, but they do need to be mature height pbulbs before they bloom.

So you want to try standard catts - (floofs is their nickname). I may have an extra or something I can divide... if you are willing to take pot luck, PM me your address and if I can find something I will send it to you. I'll think about a vendor too. There was a really good catt grower in Livermore, but they closed last year and sold their land for houses.

I am a Bay Area native, born in Palo Alto, grew up in Menlo Park.
