Thanks again, Julie. You are right, it's a simple idea but I should imagine it makes life a little easier.

I don't worry about bugs, and haven't had much problem. Occasionally an earwig will crawl out of some new pot. Then the whole thing gets a soak in Neem oil. I have a bucket I keep around for soaking or fertilizing. It's easier and less wasteful than filling the sink with water. I measured out 1.5 gallons of water and marked the water line on the bucket with a Sharpie. That way, I can easily measure out the fertilizer or pesticide and just fill the bucket to the line. It's not rocket science, but it's handy.

If you were worried about the little bugs that you found, are any of the british members able to recommend some bug-unfriendly products?
I did google Neem oil, but I came to the conclusion that it might not be an approved product over here in England!?
The ones I have found so far haven't bothered me or my plants yet, but just in case...
I'm almost certain I saw neem oil on sale just recently, I'll try to remember where.
It's also a medical remedy in Indian cultures. I don't think there are many dangers of using this bio-pesticide
