Hi all,
My mini oncidium 'red stars' has finished blooming; do you recommend that I cut the spikes back? They look a bit silly at the moment with no blooms :-(
Thanks!

The plant is done with them, so I cut them off to tidy things up. It does seem to help me to leave a bit of a stub so you can tell which pbulbs have already bloomed.
cut it off with sterile scissors or it let it turn brown and cut/snap it off.......
Yes cut it off. Some wait for them to turn brown, but the bloomless spikes seem really depressing to me and take up lots of space. I just cut them off with a clean razor blade about 1/2 of an inch above the PB.
Cheers,
