    Nice cats, BD! I like the last pic too, especially that guy in the middle munching on the leaf. Well, nobody said catfish have to be bright. Just tasty!!!

    Oh no, these are babies! We never eat them. We just feed them and watch them grow. They are really friendly and when they hear us talking outside or walking around on the porch, they start splashing around like they are starving. LOL. They, like the orchids, the dogs, cats, and the bird, have us trained.

    I think it should be commonly accepted by now, that humans don't have pets, but animals adopt humans. same probably goes for plants too!

    I can't help it. Being from the country and all, I see dinner when I look at your pictures. Crispy-fried cornmeal catfish is just to die for...the fresher the better

    I just had some last Saturday with a bit of tartar sauce and a squeeze of lemon.

    You know, I have never tried catfish - maybe one day, if I ever go on holiday again on your side of the Atlantic.

    They are flaky if they are cooked right. If they're too soggy, they might as well be monkfish (which I think is nasty)...

    LOL! I would have said they're meaty! But the farm-raised ones are supposed to not taste muddy like the wild ones. I've never had a wild one, so I don't know.

    I think Bruce should put one up on O-bids - he has so many...

    Julie,

    Southern catfish is cut REALLY THIN (you can almost see through it) making it crispy. I have had it before where the texture seems meaty (but those are thick cuts...and they get soggy quickly)...

    Ahh...that's all we get up here. The whole filet. I don't fry, so there's no soggy. I spice it and grill it, which works fine.
