    Default Grammatophyllum for dummies.

    Hi guys,
I've looked around the forum a bit to see what I could find on the Grammatophyllum group, but I haven't come up with anything really coherent except that they are enormous. Do any of you have one that you could post a pic of? or do any of you know specifics about their culture? I am contemplating one as my next you-can't-afford-this purchase, which is coming due sometime in mid-April.

Threads are always better with pictures, so I'll post a pic of something funny. I hope you guys can help (you always do!) thanks,
    kitty

I have no clue about Grammatophyllums, but that photo is brilliant.

Makes me feel much better about not ever having a chance of being one of those elegant synchonised swimmers.

The non-blooming kind? they typically do need more sun (mine grow in full sun). I too will post pics of at least my Gramm. speciosum, if no one else does

Ours blooms and has a spike growing right now. They do take lots of sun, just not direct for us. The bloom spike is usually 6 to 8 feet long and that makes it difficult to take good photos.

    cheers,
    BD

6 to 8 feet? That's bigger than me, where do you keep a monster like that?

Apart from in a greenhouse of course!

The spike is a wee baby right now. I will snap some shots when it is larger and has some buds or blooms. (I actually think there are photos of both of ours grams. on here somewhere already.)

    Cheers,
    BD

Just before leaving, I took a really quick picture of my Gramm. speciosum that I had already set aside... not the greatest picture of it
