    I'm actually pretty adamant on it being a sheath...I've inspected it closely all day, and it's not flat and pointed like a new leaf. It's blunt, rounded, and thick, shaped like a butter knife (flat on one side, curved on the other).

    That sounds like a sheath to me... or just a funny-shaped leaf. *ducks*

    Okay...

    Not to be a party pooper..but this hybrid may be compact but it's not a mini. A sheath on a 1.5" p-bulb would be something to see considering the parentage of this hybrid (mossiae, dowiana, etc.)

    Only time will tell if that is really a leaf or sheath.
    If the plant is in fact still very young, it could end up being an empty sheath.
