Mormolyca ringens

I have a mormolyca rigens that has what looks like 3 new growths. I can't determine if these are spikes or new pseudobulbs. If these are in fact new pseudo bulbs should I cut the pot a bit to make room for them or just repot the whole thing? I inherited this plant had several months ago, it had just one flower.

Those are definitely three new growths. I would just repot the whole plant. You may find that you can squeeze it back into the pot if the 'back' of the plant does not have any active growing point. This plant is fairly forgiving.

I am constantly amazed at how quickly this plant multiplies. I have one that is also sending new growths and have a couple of flower's coming out as well. And this is after I have just repotted it about a month and a bit ago only.

I would agree with Tim. Repot it and it will probably fit back into its original pot.

how much light should this plant get? I received one recently but may not be giving enough light.

Ron, I have no idea. I have it under about 1ft. from 2-100w CFLs. It seems to enjoy being moist.

I am growing mine shady and moist, about Phal light. I hope it doesn't need brighter

Also of note, the specimen I have produces multiple spikes from a single pseudobulb and produces multiple pseudobulbs from several pseudobulbs (it seems to be growing exponentially).

Congrats Mateo!! I need to check on mine. I have since moved it to higher light next to most of my Maxillaria.
