Lots of roots

I have returned. My Phal orchid has done well so far this winter. I cut the spike off in June 2007. It has done absolutely nothing since then. Until recently. I've noticed that it is growing bunches of roots. The new roots seem to be growing quickly. I swear I went to sleep and woke up the next day and one of the roots looked as if it had grown at least a centimeter.

Basically, are the new roots a good sign and when can I expect a new spike? Where does the new spike appear.

Your new roots are a good sign and I bet at a leaf junction there is a spike, they like to hide.

I think the saying "A watched pot never boils" applies to me. I check almost every day because I cant wait for it to bloom again.

My phal spikes are later this year...I think due to the late fall warm weather we had. Spikes appear in the lower leaf junctions...and they too can appear quickly. You should see one soon !

I agree. We see blooms on the phals in February, so spikes anytime now.
