Connie, thanks for the kudos, but with all due respect, I've seen some of your beauties and, they are absolutely FIRST RATE!!!!! The spots is Phal Brother John and the lines is Dtps Chain Xer Pearl x Ching Ann Davis.
Oh my how lovely! Good growing.
Oh, they are lovely! I favor the white one with the yellow. It is stunning.
Cheers,
BD
Hi Biderdoc,
I don't know how you ever leave your greenhouse! Your white one looks like species Phalaenopsis amabilis. You might want to do a web search and confirm.
Al
Al, I agree with you. It certainly looks like P. amabilis. As you also know soooooo many hybreds "look like" other phals. Since it is my plant and it looks soooo much like amabilis, I am going to call it Phal amabilis! It used to be "Phal white noid"
I think it's the right call. I have one that's why I immediately recognized your picture. Mine is in bloom right now and is beautiful. I'm not one for white phals usually but the size of the blossoms on this one is striking. They can get up to 6" across. Mine are 4 1/2" so maybe next year it will hit the 6" size!
Al
I am not into white, either, but I do have 2 or 3 other whites that are striking because of the colors in the throat and lip and they are large flowers....I like BIG! I'll post pics when they open.
