    Default My Orchidarium Pics

Well I wasn't sure where to post these pictures, and I promised a while back ago that I would share pictures of them. They aren't the best, it is hard to capture the true lighting, but I suppose they will do.

The first and largest orchidarium has a MistKing system in it to help keep the humidity around 70% and higher. The temps right now are in the 70's and the lows in the 60's at night. There are three lights that are some kind of a florecent biaxle light if I remember correctly. The 'chids really seem to love it in there and I have seen amazing growth!

The second orchidarium has an 8-bulb T5 light fixture. It holds the humidity pretty well without having to add a misting system. The lights also heat up to about 90+. I just started using a fan to cool them and it keeps the high temps in the upper 70's and the lows in the 60's.

Ooops! I just realized I haven't taken any pictures of my smaller orchidarium after I added orchids to it about 3 month's ago....but don't worry, it is full! I will get pictures of it with orchids soon! Now that I look at the large orchidarium, I realize I need to update these photo's as well since I have the set up of the orchids different and also some different orchids.

    Enjoy!

Thanks! I guess I should have given the dimensions, sorry! The largest one has an outside dimensions of 48"W x 24"D x 42"H. The second orchidarium (the empty one in the pictures) is an Exo-Terra and it is 18 x 18 x 24. While they are nice and big, you can never have one that is big enough....my next goal is to have an entire room, dedicated to the orchids....you know....the one's that everyone dreams of! The first orchidarium I purchased off line, and once I saw what was needed to put one together, I decided to set up the second one! One of these days I will figure out how to put my own frame together!
