I almost missed this one. I was looking at a bulbo we had in bloom this afternoon and this orchid was in bloom below it. I am glad I was able to get a photo.

She's so cute! I have a Cochleanthes flabelliformis and I just love to stare at her when she's in bloom.
Interesting shape and I love the blue tint.![]()
That is lovely. I've always wanted one but afraid that it may not tolerate hot summer. BD, any growing tips on this one?
Thanks, Tanya. We grow this one on the warm end of the greenhouse along with most of our phrags. It gets a bit more light than it probably should because it is in front of the glass door of the greenhouse, but it gets some shade from the bulbos and a couple of dends that grow on the shelf above it.
Water and food is the same for everything in our greenhouse since it would be too tedious to withhold from one plant. So, basically it gets watered twice a week during the summer and once a week during the winter. It gets food every other week in the winter and once a week in the warmer months. I know this isn't much info, but that is how it grows for us. Someone who grows more of these might have better information. I got one bloom on this plant in a six inch pot. It has lots of foliage for one bloom, so I could probably bloom it better if I moved it. The bloom comes out near the base of the plant. As I mentioned in the first post - I almost missed the flower all together since it was under other plant's foliage. The spike is all curved (funny looking, really.)
cheers,

nice one Bruce...not seen this hybrid before.
Thanks, Bruce. Two years ago, I bought a hybrid Coch Amazing but it died after one year in summer. That is why I thought that these may not like the hot summer of around 35C sometimes. I really love the way the flower dangle from the edge of the pot, it looks nice hanging.
I like this one very beautiful I just made crossing between Coc. amazonica X marginata , the seed pod now increasing in size hoping will give nice flowers later on.Love the large lip.
Very elegant looking. I have a Cochleanthes that is yet to bloom; but I am anxiously awaiting it!
This is so lovely!! I like the blue tint too, I'm crazy about those.
