    Cool Encyclia Green Hornet

This is one of the orchids I recently adopted. It was in bloom when I picked it up and it somehow managed to survive the repotting. LOL I had one of these several years ago, but it was lost in the freeze. I never really appreciated how pretty it was but now having this orchid again, I really do. I snapped this shot with my ancient mobile phone, so it is not the clearest image, but I hope you like the cute little face in the bloom.

I guess I should mention that the photo is before the repotting. After I brought the new orchids home, I put them all together on one end of the greenhouse and sprayed them heavily with Seven (the milky white stuff you see on the plant). I didn't want any pest coming into my greenhouse with the new plants. When I potted this one up, I removed the shriveled bulbs and staked the plant upright.

    cheers,
    BD
