Orchis tridentata in Bloom!

I want to share with you these lovely photos of this Orchis tridentata, which I've had for about 3 years now and this is the third time that it blooms.
These are quite pretty terrestrial Orchids which bloom late winter, or early spring and then the leaves and bloom die out due to lack of rain in the summer in the Mediterranean. They have Round bulb-like roots which are not bulbs. In the summer they remain dormant till the autumn when it starts raining. They grow in light soil, usually mixed with leaves.
What I do since I have mine in pots is to add crushed dry Lamb manure(disgusting!! he he he ) in the autumn and leave them outside to catch some rain. They stay semi-shielded under a pine tree and here you can see the results. Quite easy and simply beautiful

Very pretty!! And it has such a nice ball of interesting flowers...Lucky You!! Well, and since we all know I love pink... Unfortunately; the growing medium you are using...icky. lol You are a gardener for sure!

Thanks guys for the comments. This little beauty can handle a range of temps from barely freezing, 0 degrees celcius to way up to 30 degrees celcius(At least this year's temp ranges this winter). Of course the hotter it gets, the quicker the blooms die. Blooms usually last a couple of months. After the top of the plant dries up, I just place the pots somewhere in the garden and neglect them till Autumn arrives
