Pholidota chinensis

This genus is a relative of Coelogyne ; Asian species, this one from China I suppose , in view of the name, but other species in the genus coming from as far away as India. It is the symmetrical arrangement of the flowers which fascinates me here ; not large flowers, say 2cm, 3/4 inch across at the most - and even then I may be over-estimating a bit.
Seems to be settling down well in my "natural growing" regime - six spikes ! But not yet very well rooted on the "log" - but the spikes come out of the centre of the new growths, a-la- Pleione/Coelogne and the new roots follow as the growths develop, so the crunch time approaches. But I am confident that this plant will like it.

I had been growing it in Leca (baked clay pebbles) and some roots had stuck to them. That 's what you can see.

Today,no. But some flowers are only fragrant in sunshine - some pollinators only fly when the sun shines.no sun here at present...
