I think Pholidota is quite closely related to Coelogyne , although all the others I have ever grown look quite different from that other genus ; but this looks like a (miniature) Coelogyne, to me.However, that trick of the spike twisting slightly along its length is something I have seen in the other Pholidotas ( all of which have left my collection as being of insufficient interest to deserve space ; not this one though ! ) Flowers maybe 2cm across - that's only a 4 inch pot its in, but four spikes (this year - best ever !). I can count 23 flowers and buds on the one spike alone. The third and fourth spikes, just starting to elongate now.
This is one of many plants I have being preparing today, for my Society Show on Saturday - this is to be the single plant entered in "one other species" class - other meaning apart from Catt, Paph etc etc..
