Seeing as how photos of pets seem to be quite popular, I thought that I would introduce my fish. Of course they are orchid lovers too.
I hope you like them!

nice Discus.Any of breeding size
Wow, I'm so jealous, I love Discus! We have an Amazon set up in our tank but we stick to angels, tetras and catfish. Would love to have Discus but they are so high maintenance.![]()
Yup - "Big fish" (incidentally who is a boy) is about 6" diameter, the others are between 4-5". They will regularly spawn - although one pair is distinctly lesbian and has been so for 2 years. We actually bought Mr Big Fish in the hopes of splitting them up and getting slightly more productive. Unfortunately we have only managed to get to the fry stage a couple of times. I think it is quite common for the parenting skills of discus to take time to mature. Also, we just don't have any extra room to have a seperate spawning tank. So, whilst it would be fantastic to get some new fish babies - it's probably just as well we don't!
Hi Elena,
I have to admit, the only special treatment they get from us is the RO water - well that and the big tank. They are a bit shy sometimes though, and we have just had to get rid of some congo tetras that were spooking them.
Other than that, they seem to be very happy with corys, cardinal tetras and penguin tetras. I would love angels one day, but they appear to be a big no no in the discus world - although no one ever says why!

Those guys are great! I love to keep an aquarium. I have one in my office (20 gallon) and one in our dining room (55 gallon) plexi-glass. I don't raise many fish, but love to raise water plants. I do have a few fish, but nothing as showy as yours Kerry. Those guys are really amazing.
Cheers,

Beautiful ! Thanks for sharing your picturesGin
Oh wow! The look very happy with that colour. Excellent fish keeping! Those guys are hard too keep cuz of water quality
Nice aquarium and beautiful fish. We have a simple 20 gal freshwater aquarium in our Florida room with only a few fish. We kept the orchids in this room over the colder winter (Jan and Feb), and the humidity never dropped below 50%. I believe the aquarium had a LOT to do with that!
Thanks for the great pics.

Pretty Fishes I am sure that Molly Taco would like to watch them
