Hi all,
This has been blooming for a little over a week now, but I've only now gottten around to resizing the photos. As some of you know, I quite like Tolumnias, as they tolerate my horrendous watering techniques! This is Tolumnia Midas, so named I'm sure for its flower coloring. While I do find it bright and cheerful I have a mild complaint that it sort of looks a bit too much like every yellow oncidium. Note though, in the first photo, one feature does set it apart from most other Tolumnias. I've never seen one with such reddish-bronzed foliage. All the rest of mine, as well as others I've seen, have fairly plain green foliage.
I bought this one at my OS auction in October and the spike appeared about a month after I got it. I wish all my 'chids would spike so promptly!
Hope you enjoy.
Cheers,
Rob
