Got to repot cymbidium orchids AGAIN

I am rather annoyed to say the least. I got 2 cymbidiums about 3 months ago and they have been outside. about 2 or 3 weeks ago the wind blew them over so they had to be repotted. We used terracotta pots this time so they would be more steady and my husband found an old table for them to stand on outside. All was going well till yesterday when we went out into the garden and checked them and ***** it the birds had dropped all their seed from the feeders into the orchid pots *sigh* so we tried to remove the seeds but they are deep in the bark so looks like I have to repot for the third time in 3 months. I am not impressed teach us to put them away from the bird feeders

Could you submerge the pots to float the seed out ? bark would float too but new could be added . I did have plants in my bird room most seed that got into the pots and were buried did not sprout what did i just plucked it out . Gin

I could try I have a load of bark soaking for them if we cant manage that way we will repot I just hate messing their roots around time and time again poor guys. It has sunflower seeds in that seem to sprout in nothing I guess I could just pull them out if i see them.

Since my orchids live in my bird room, fallen (and thrown) seed does sprout in the pots. I just pull out the growing sprouts and feed them back to the birds.

Cool so doesnt seem as big a problem as I had feared, whats this with bird rooms you guys got aviarys? I love birds but cant handle the thought of them in cages and on a silly note I am allergic to feather so would I be allergic to them on the bird

bird romm (or Aviary) is a big room in the basement of my house where I raise Budgies. The finches are in my living room.

Awe cool. sounds great! I do love birds but my moms friend had a budgie and the poor thing hated me it nuzzled up to my mom and attacked me if i went anywhere near LOL

Mine are in what was the attached garage we re did it plants were in there for awhile before the green house .
I raise mainly canaries have a lot of babies right now . Gin

I bet you can just pull what comes up - out. I hope you don't have to repot!
