Rescued NoID Phal Pays Me Back!

Back in January, I rescued a phal that had been exposed to freezing temps. $3!

I did surgery on 2 leaves and did end up blooming the final bud on the spike.

Well, the life cycle completion desire must be strong with this one, as even before I decided to to re-bloom it, the orchid on its own, grew a new spike from the 4th node up the original spike. Also, lots of new roots and a new leaf!

It has 6 healthy buds, 2 open so far.

That's almost got to be the same as one of my rescue NOID Phals. It's blooming now too, though almost done. It came to me in rough shape, but turned around quickly and has been a great plant ever since! It's become a large plant with this years spike (blooming), last year's and the year before. It didn't bloom the old spikes this time, but had two of them going last year and they are still green and plump. I plan to experiment with Keiki paste on this one when its done blooming. The colors are so bright and pretty!

Looks like a variation of Phal. Brother Sara Gold 'Peach'. This type has many markings but similar colors.
