Miltassia Olemec 'Kanno'
Okay, I jumped in again and bought a Miltassia. I'm always telling you all what a stinker I am at raising the oncids, but a recent Colmanara Wildcat has been doing so well it has given me the urge to try with another. I found this lovely at a yard sale, I am a "newbie" when it comes to the oncids but the way cheap price combined with the overgrown three inch pot, I just could not pass this one up. My eyes about popped when I saw the pretty spike broken in one spot, but the buds and flowers continue to do well so far. I was going to sit it back down until I saw the two other spikes coming along nicely hidden in the greenery....there could be more, this is really overgrown! The picture shows the side not crowded because I cannot get it to stand up if it's turned the other way. The p-bulbs hang over the edge on the other side in a double row. So, after it's done blooming do I repot or are these like Dens and like to be overcrowded in its pot?? Any care suggestions would be appreciated for this one in muggy hot Florida? Should it stay indoors?
Oh and now for the kicker, this thing smells like heaven. I was walking with it in my hand and kept smelling this wonderful soft fragrence.....this plant was just a complete suprise, I had no idea Miltassia's could smell so wonderful!

I wish I could smell it - the fragrance is one of the reasons I love oncids...that, and they just LOVE to grow!! They are easy
