Recycled plastic containers

I am in the process of recycling all of my clear plastic containers...I put slits and holes in them, then re-pot my orchids in them. Another experiment...Betty

Do you just use a knife to slit them, or something heated?

Your collection looks great - the clear plastic with the s/h looks so clean and neat, like fine glassware.

Patty, I use a very hot torch to heat up a sharp knife, then run it down the side of the container in four places. Then I make four to six holes in the bottom of each pots. I also use the white pearl rocks that can be purchased at big box stores. The size media I use depends on how big the roots are. The larger the roots, the larger the media. Seems to be working O.K. Betty

Ditto! I love this Idea, thanks for sharing! Pots can be a big expense, depending on the size of your obsession. With the money I save I could buy...... ummmmmmmm NEW ORCHIDS! YYYAAAAAA!

Maybe 2-liter pop bottles?? The other one look like Sport drink bottles.

I considered that, but they look too round to be the bottoms of bottles..

I don't know but, I am going to be searching the isles of the big bow stores today! Another question TwoStems what is IN the pots? It looks so good!
