    Default Odd Pigmentation on leaves

Hello, I noticed this vanda of mine started getting this dark pattern near the top of it’s crown. Two of my other orchids have this but it hasn’t impacted them negatively. Could it be high light? I’m just curious to know what this is. I don’t have a fungicide on hand. I’m sure that would be very helpful for maintenance of such things. That’ll go in the list. So yes please any opinions/ thougts? I’d like for this patterning to stop. One pic is the front and one is the back.

I can't judge the colour from my screen. If the pigmentation is purplish, it might be due to the intense light its been getting (not very concerning). But if it is black, most probably fungal infection. Just wait for others to reply. Hang in there!

Did you give it intense light? It does look reddish-purple on my screen.

Intermediate light, it’s facing an east window. The sun rays leave after 12pm.

If it is black spots and spreading, you may consider to use fungicide. If the new leaf keep growing longer, I think it should be fine. You can always private message our fellow Canadian Senior member, Chris in Hamilton for advice regarding the fungicide brand available in Canada.

    Default It’s spreading!!!

@Azizan it’s starting to spread. Chris in Hamilton hasn’t gotten back to me yet through pm or e mail. Will a copper fungicide do the trick? What should I do. This feels like watching the climax of a movie. I really don’t want to cut but if I have to inorder to save it tell me. I’ll bite the bullet. I have this sinking feeling.

I would not cut it either. I begin to feel like it is pigmentation due to light because the region that is hidden away from light is free from the pigmentation.

I am not 100% sure it is due to light or fungus but you may want to play it safe.
I have never used copper-based fungicide though. Hope this link helps http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ide-dends.html
