Default strange silvery patches on leaves after root rot, also small dark lumps on underside

    Hi

I am very new to orchids; I only have one, but it's quite important to me. Recently I discovered that the pot I had put it in wasn't draining properly and it had root rot, so I cut all the rotten roots off and repotted it in a clean (and better-draining) pot with fresh bark. It's showing some signs of life - new buds, one of its aerial roots is starting to grow again - but two of its existing flowers have drooped and there are some very strange silvery patches on the leaves, as well as sume strange bumps on the underside of the bottom two leaves (the picture I've attaches is of the underside - they are blue because the plant had dyed blue flowers when it was given to me). I know about the sunburn and have taken precautions to stop it happening again. Please give me some advice about how to help my orchid get healthy again!

    Thank you

First picture showing initial sign of sunburning is going to happen soon if it stays at that light level without air movement. If you are going to grow it near that window with that sunlight level, you need to provide more air movement to prevent the sunburn. Water it more frequently because it looks dehydrated. With that sunlight, water loss will be faster. Phalaenopsis loves humid environment. But NEVER let water accumulate in between the leaves as it can cause rot. The flowers droop probably due to dehydration too. The leaf you Phalaenopsis should be firm to touch when it gets enough water. Every time you water, make sure all roots turn green. As long as it grows new healthy roots and leaves, I wouldn't worry too much about that spots since it is on lower leaves (unless it spreads), the plant will shed it anyway eventually. I think you already know that instead of blue, it will be white the next time it flowers.

Thank you very much for your help! I have moved it away from the window and will water it more often, thank you!
