This phal seems to always stay in bloom. This spike has been growing for ages. The flower appears larger this time than in previous blooms. Yes, it is fragrant. It smells like 'Fruit Loops' cereal to me.

Very nice. Fruit Loops? Do you still eat them? hee hee.. Since someone else posted a lovely violacea or relative recently, and I bemoaned my lack of ability to get species phals to bloom, I watered the phals and low and behold, there is what appears to be the start of a spike on mine. Now, it's about what, 6 months before it will bloom?
Fruit loops fragrance!!!...
Yummy...![]()
No, not 6 months....maybe 2? 3? Talk to it and see if you can convince it to hurry up a bit... ;-)
First bloomings can take a while.
Nice bellina Bruce.
