    Default Howeara Lava Burst 'Puanani' AM/AOS

    This is a nice little plant I won in an orchid society raffle last year. I really didn't know anything about it but it has almost doubled in size and put out tons of small vivid red blooms, so it must like my grow area.

    Does anyone else grow these and know what conditions they like? It's nice to know what causes my random successes.

    My lava burst is like yours...quietly growing along. I love the easy growers. Your flowers look much darker than mine...pretty!

    That is really nice, Doug. It appears more dark red than ours. So pretty!

    Thanks for the kind words Liz. It has an very faint fragrance, you pretty much have to have your nose right up to the flower to notice it.

    It certainly appears quite a bit darker than others I have seen on the internet. My plants all tend to have darker coloration than others I have seen, it might possibly be the fertilizer I use, but I can't be sure.
