Obtained while in spike. The actual flower is a lot deeper in color. I could not figure out how to get Elements to correct it. I will post another picture if I can figure it out.

The flower is only 3/8 of an inch wide from tip to tip. The whole plant is only 6" tall. It is in a pretty fine mix and based on what I have read in other threads I need to repot it in a coarser mix.

Hi.....Mine has been in bloom for several weeks and I cut back the first 2 of 5 spikes when the last flower dropped. As I was getting ready to cut the 3rd one back I saw a tiny budding growth. It is branching and growing rapidly. There are 2 more spikes still in bloom and I am hoping they will branch also. I didn't know it would do this, so don't be too hasty in cutting the spikes.

I have killed many of these and will not try them again.

Thanks for the tip. I will watch the watering more closely.

and here is an updated picture that does not look like it came out of the seventies. Once I cropped it and put it to actual pixels all I could do is just stare at it. I could not take my eyes off of it. I guess that is a little bit of self back patting, but dang it looks purdy.

Look at my first picturee, Gin. I am not really happy with that one. Looks like Kodachrome vintage 60's or 70's. The second picture was taken with the SAME camera and the SAME lens!!! One was taken in my little growing box and the other was taken in sunlight at an advantageous angle.

I am learning that there are three important rules in phtography that MUST be adhered to:

1)Lighting
2)Lighting
3)Lighting
