Encyclia growth fell off, need help...

A couple of months ago I posted this...

Yesterday during watering it fell off. I don't know what to do with it. Or if it's even something that can survive. The root growth has slowed down a good bit. The tips were once green and now they are brown. I haven't changed anything. Any advise?

Maybe put the roots in a little bit of sphag and keep it in lower light and see if they grow??

maybe put a clear plastic cup with a hole on top of the pot with the sphag so it keeps higher humidity levels.... but areate it once in a while. maybe poke a hole or 2 in teh plastic cup

I like putting little keikeis that fall off plants onto wood with a layer of spag., and then use twist ties to hold it to the mount...sometimes they make it and thrive...sometimes they don't. I'd probably have more success if I grew them awhile as the above two mentioned and let them get bigger before I mounted them.

I've never had luck with bag & sphag, always get mold. I will move it to lower light. I can see how the cup or mount method will work.

Gatorade bottle with bottom cut off works well. fits snughly on top of 4 " clay pots. Mini greenhouse and large opening on top that you can open and close.

I definately agree with Connie...In fact, I've done the almost exact same thing. If it were mine, I'd find a piece of wood or tree fern & mount it. I feel sure it will grow. Just don't make the mistake of putting too much moss...encyclias like to get ALMOST dry before getting some more water...Betty :-)
