    Default Decease or virus?

    Hi All,

I am having some issues with my Brassavola cucullata. The pseudobulbs are turning yellow and dried of one by one. I understand that usually the oldest pseudobulb will dried and fall off but my case is happening too fast. From the oldest onwards it turns yellow..moving to the newer ones. My plant has 9-10 pseudobulb and i lost 4 of the oldest ones in 1 month time..and is continuing to another pseudobulb.

Do you have any idea what is going on? I am quite sure i did not over water them because it was mounted on fern bark and i always make sure it has white roots before i water them again. As for sun, it was under a shade and was in that spot for 3-4 months side by side with some dendrobium keikis.

    Please advice.

Probably some sort of rot, I don't think it's virus.
Probably need treatment with some broad spectrum fungicide.
Let's see what others have to say.

That plant can take almost full sun, and if mounted, I don't see how one can overwater it.

I have seen underwatered brassavolas do that very thing.

Treat it with a broad spectrum fungicide immediately. You could look for Thiophanate methyl as active ingredient.

In order to be able to make a diagnosis with a certain margin of safety you should attach some photos that show more details, for what you can see, scarteri virus infections, I am inclined to think about a fungus infection.
I would do more treatments with "Aliette" (Bayer), fungicide with biosystemic action and biostimulant, Fosetil Aluminum 80%, I recommend the utmost caution in the use of pesticides.

Thanks all, I am applying all measures. Applying some fungicides, hydrogen peroxide and water more frequent as long as it dries up. Let see how it goes.
