Anyone ever heard of watering the Phal with one tbl of Epsom Salts twice in the late summer early fall to promote multiple spikes?? Tried it this year Maybe it was luck but I got lots of spikes.

Many people add epsom salts to the fertilizer regime. Most do it on a monthly or so basis.
I haven't done it before, but I've heard of it...![]()
Epsom Salts give the plants a big boost of Magnesium , this has the effect of "greening " up the foliage. As for inducing more spikes. If they were lacking in magnesium beforehand then i suppose it could make a difference.
You need to check your regular fertilizer that you use and see if magnesium is lacking. You can over do.
Sometime back, Gin posted she waters with 1/4 tsp per gallon monthly.
It's a good source of trace magnesium, just as ground egg shells are a good natural source of calcium.
If either is lacking in your fertilizer, plant won't be as healthy long term, and may be stubborn to bloom.
