One of my paphs seems to have some kind of light brown mold in the pot. It's fuzzy and stringy. I hope someone knows what this is and how to get rid of it (if necessary)?

Yep. That sounds like mold. The only way I've been able to cure it is completely repot the plant..get all the old media outta there and soak the bare root plant in Physan and then repot in a CLEAN pot with fresh media.
I wouldn't think that it is an emergency to get it out of the pot though...am I correct?
I wouldn't say DIRE emergency at all. I've had that "hairy mold" live in spag in Phal pots for several months without affecting the health of the plant. However, mold growing in a pot is indicative of media that is decaying which in the long run is not beneficial to root health. What state is said plant in?
Why don't you post a picture and let us take a look? Any of you others out there have any experience or theories about this?
I thought I'd attached one. Anyway here it is. The plant doesn't seem to mind it at all (yet).
I had something like that.... when I dug into the media, I found little bug nests with egg sacks deeper in... but my "webbing" looked more white. Needless to say, they got the neem oil & Dawn soap treatment and a repotting.
Might not be the same thing.
