Can anyone DISPEL the misinformation I'm getting from orchid books?
In "Easy Orchids: The Fail-Safe Guide to Growing Orchids Indoors," Liz Johnson lists Laelia anceps as an easy orchid for beginners. She claims it tolerates a wide temperature range, and needs only "good, indirect light." She even says it has a "fragrance."
Yet today, when I contacted 2 noted growers they both said it's an OUTDOOR orchid with NO FRAGRANCE.
I would appreciate comments from someone who's worked with this plant. Also, any recommendations for an orchid that can thrive in an east- or south-facing window, and that has a pleasant fragrance would be welcome.
Thank you in advance.
Romulus
