Well, in the area I live, we don't have much in the way of a humidity problem...coastal fog morning and evening, lots of rain, and overcast days. It lounges in a temperature between 68 and 72 (that's what the thermostat says) and rarely gets to 80 degrees...maybe three times in the last couple years...and that's when we have dry years and actually get something we could call summer. *laff*
For now, I've repotted it into one of those good drainage holey pots orchids like with new medium mix, changed it's location to the kitchen window (more humidity from the sink and dishwasher, & changed the fertilizer I'm using to the Orchid specific one mentioned above.
I never have beer in the house, except root beer on occasions, and I have a funny feeling it would not like that. Anyway, knowing me, I'd give it too much beer and it would climb out of the pot and accidentally commit suicide trying to get to the fridge for more!!
So, I think now I have to wait and see what the new growth looks like since nothing I do will alter the condition of the current crinkly leaves. I will keep you posted with pictures and commentary. I really appreciate all the ideas and suggestions. I had already asked the local nursery people and the reply was "hmmm, got fried?!?!?!" But that was all I could get from them. That's when I came looking for a forum ........... and found you all!
Thanks!
