Mention of "watered every dayt" or "watered every other day" is a no-no for me. I have too many plants for that to be feasible. Which means that I have to look for composts a bit more water retentive , and perhaps that's where the problems come in. Water retentive is OK as long as the plants are using it, but catts with their few thick leaves don't perhaps transpire the way , say, Odonts do - after all in Brazil , in the highlands, it gets quite dry for months at a time , so the plants are designed to have drought conditions
.It gets to be catch 22 - they want one compost for the growing season, and a different one for the resting season, and they don't want to be repotted ...
Maybe I should sell all the catts and have Pleurothallids in their place - most of them can stay damp all the time with no problem !
