This is a common fish here in Malaysia and is called 'belitung' in Malay and 'golok' in our Kedah dialect. The reason you don't see them is because they are almost never seen in the markets because our local people do not like to eat them. But I can assure you that the flesh is delicious especially if you make fish and chips with the fillet.
Haha I never knew that the fish exist in Malaysia either! I must be living under a rock Or maybe because the fish looks so bizarre to be eaten? I will try to eat it if I have a chance.
