Out of town for 9 days

I will be soon on vacation for a little more than a week. Normally, I would simply water all my orchids the day I leave and bring them inside while I am gone. My trouble, now, is that I just added an basket BLC Maikai. Currently, I have it hanging under a tree outside and drenching it every 2 days. Would it survive 9 days inside?

Put it in a lower light situation on tray over a container of water. Nine days should not hurt it. You could also add a bit of chopped sphag around the roots loosely to help hold a bit more moisture. (Do this only for the short term, not as a permanent solution).

Bruce gave you some really great ideas. Nine days in Texas in August without water would kill just about anything tropical. I'm sure it will be fine..reduced light inside means a slower transpiration rate...less water loss

Nine days in Texas in August without water would kill just about anything tropical.

I am bringing them inside to my living room, which is very bright with lots of morning sun. AC and ceiling fan will be on to keep the air movement, but I am more likely set it to 85 degree to save the energy.

BTW, Houston reached 100 yesterday. Luckily for orchids, we also have higher humidity. So far, orchids are doing well outside.

The 85 degrees will actually be better for the orchids since the air conditioning will not run as much. Air conditioning removes moisture from the air, thus removing moisture from your plants, fish tank, etc...
