Howeara Lava Burst 'Puanani' AM/AOS-HOS

Katie gave me these orchids some time ago and I was a bit apprehensive if I could get them to bloom in the greenhouse.

Well, it looks like I got my answer
Here's a picture showing two of the howearas that have flowers.
The orchid with 3 inflorescences started blooming in June, while the other one with two inflorescence followed a month later.

Wow, nice blooms on both of those pictures! They have cute flowers, and three spikes per plant?? Those look like cool plants! How often do they bloom?

I believe that they bloom as soon as the pseudobulb feels like it. Like most of its oncidinae cousins.

Considering that my "biggest" howeara consists only of one new pseudobulb and two old ones, I am very impressed with the 3-inflorescence effort. I cant wait for a few years down the line when this baby is producing multiple new pseudobulbs per season

Hmm, so they 'can' bloom early? If I run into a How. i'm going to have to get me one. Gonna have to get that room built soon....
