    Default Keiki....or just a leaf?

Hi I found your forum looking for more info on a little leaf that is growing out of the stem of my moth orchid, wondered if you guys could tell if it's just a leaf or maybe the start of a keiki?

Sorry the picture is a bit rubbish

That could be one of two things...a newly emerging flower spike or a keikei. It'll become clear in about a week what it's growing into.

Wish I could see a pic of where that is arising from. I would be able to answer your question better.

Just looks like a node. Sometimes Phals do this but not necessarily going to be a keikei.

That is what I was thinking...possible enlarged flowering spike node sheath. It could indicate side branching of the spike

It is hard to tell at this point. I hope it turns out to be a keiki for you though. That is always fun.

    Cheers,

Thank you all for your replies, I've tried to come up with some better pictures, hope these upload ok and are a bit clearer! The last one of the whole plant has where the leaf is circled.

    Thanks again!
