    Smile Blc. George King

    Hi,
    I am a new orchid lover and went to Longwood Garden 2 weeks ago for the orchid show. Of course came home with several new pots.
    The one pot called Blc. George King which did not come with care tips. I have no idea what type of orchid it is and what I should do with it.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    It is a cattleya, I recommend reading the cattleya care sheet for them that can be found at aos.org and others will chime in with help...just don't overwater, whatever u do!! They like to dry out. Please spend some time reading the many posts on catt care here ob OT, all your culture questions can be answered here!

    BLC stands for Brassolaeliocattleya so it is Cattleya intergeric...requiring high light and to dry between watering

    Just want to say a quick Thanks to everyone for speedy reply. I have some additional questions about the roots of this plant (I re-potted last night), but I need to find my camera to take a pic first.
