Thanks for all the beautiful pics, Connie and Rich! I didn't make it there as it turned out we were invided for a day time pool birthday party so I couln't leave... Reading about the prices made me feel better... I went to two other places in Kissimmee and came home with 6 new additions so I guess I didn't miss too much... I still spent my money. LOL Connie, thanks for all the info! I will check them on my next trip may be next month.
Love the first and last one in post 8. Great pictures Connie![]()
I'm so glad you all enjoyed the pictures so much! It made the sweaty adventure, even the snakey part, worth it. My camera kept having issues, but managed to still catch some nice shots. I'll have to go to more shows so I can keep the cool pics coming. I do rather enjoy the photography thing more and more. Next time I'll try to note the names too.
Thanks again for the nice comments...
Hi Connie - Beautiful plants. Beautiful pics. This is a little off subject, but your signature says "....don't forget to stop and smell the orchids." Well Charles Sheviak, a renowned orchidologist did just that and wrote about it in his description of a particular North American species:
"Flowers of Platanthera purpurascens are strongly semen scented, and their musty scent is markedly different than the sweet and spicy scents of other fragrant species."
Just sayin', maybe we shouldn't shouldn't smell ALL of the orchids!!! LOL!!!
Hi Connie,
All very nice pictures!
I adore the Encyclias most, but in fact they are all very beautiful!
