Now that I have been using Facebook for awhile, I really like being able to connect with my orchid friends through there and the community here. If you have a facebook please click the 'Become a Fan' link on our home page. It will pull your FB profile shot into that widget on the home page. It randomly pulls in 6 photos from Facebook each time the page loads. I think it is really cool.

Thanks to everyone who has joined us on FaceBook. I love seeing posts from here showing up there. Remember, to post a thread you or someone else created, just click on the little facebook icon and login to FB and the post will show up on your profile and your friends home page.

I just noticed that we now have over one hundred fans, up from seventy something on Sept 11th when I last posted - so cool! Be sure to look me up too and friend me if you want.

Today I added in two new tabs to our page in Facebook. The first is the Youtube Tab. Check it out (even if you don't have a facebook page you can still see it.) I connected it to the OrchidTalk Youtube page where I have been uploading the short videos I made for the forum.

I also added a tab to OrchidTalk's Twitter Feeds. This tab show the latest twitter posts from our community. If you have not visited us on twitter in awhile, you may not know it but we have over 3 thousand followers reading our tweets from the forum. Many of our new members may have actually found us from our participation on twitter. To post to your twitter page from the forum, just click on the little blue bird flapping its wings at the bottom of any post. And if you 'tweet' follow @OrchidTalk and I will follow you back!

Anyway, check out the Facebook page updates and if you are a fan, feel free to share photos from your profile or upload photos to the fans page. I think the more activity we have on the fans page, the more new members we will get here in our community. And that should help us stay true to our mission: "Bringing people together to grow orchids better."

No more long URL full of numbers, question marks and equal signs. LOL!
