Catts back from the dead!!!

Not too long ago I sent John a PM asking how can I bring several 97%dead catts back to life. He answered me with advise and today I want to share with you all what is happening. As you all know- the hope dies last!!!
First one is Blc Machiko Ogaura 'Volkano Queen'. I don't know where I was thinking when I bought it already 95% dead from the big box price down rack...


Next one is my digbyana that I was going to die for.... I have one more part of it that wasn't roted, but there is nothing growing yet.


I have couple more but they are not ready to stay in front of the camera yet... Will update...

Cattleyas are able to make a come back from dead ! Really sturdy I must say. I will be also sharing some pics of my Cattleya come backs, may be in the same topic, so that they become examples of the orchid spirit (pun intended hehe)

Thanks guys for sharing my excitment! Here is what I did:
I put sphag on top of the tree fern and mounted them on top after I cleaned the rot and put them in peroxide for about 10 min. As you can see there is no sphag to cover them, they need good air and moist. I was (am) misting them every morning, making sure they have enough moisture as they have no roots (I have three without any roots), and the only one that have some roots I kept on top ot the bark mix and also misting every morning. Kept them in low light and the pictures were taken about three weeks later. I am still not sure if they will survive, but they do look like they will. I did use some root stimmulator after two weeks or so...(may be a bit less). They are looking good so far! Will keep you posted!

I'm very interested because I asked a friend to buy me three half dead (or more) orchids he found in a market. I'm anxious for them to come and look after them. later tell you if it works for me or not.

BTW, have someone heard or experimented putting B vitamin (10 drops/liter of water) driving to stimulate root growing.

Well done Margo! Great rescuing job, live roots and new shoot are good signs of recovery. I think these little experiments and the expectations derived from them make Orchid growing even more exciting.

BTW, have someone heard or experimented putting B vitamin (10 drops/liter of water) driving to stimulate root growing.

I haven't used vitamin B, but I use DynaGro KLN to stimulate root growing.
