Hey Howard......I hope your Phal is back up to par soon. Not to over water, I always wait to water until I see the roots return to silvery/white. This root covering is called velamin. Then obviously the roots turn green when wet. This is an example of a healthy root. ......Cut out any mushy/black roots, fungicide if needed then repot in bark. Ive also heard that Phosphate (the middle number in fertilizers. ei 1-1-1 or 11-35-15) Is good for blooms and root growth. Since you have no spike nor blooms. This might help root growth if you water or mist the roots with a weak feed, weekly. Maybe 1/4 what it says on the package.
