Though far from an expert on anything to do with orchids in the past when I am going to be away for an extended period Of time I water heavy before leaving and hope for the best. So far this has worked with only a few orchids on windowsills. Now that I have moved my orchids to the basement and have 100 I am a little more concerned. January we are going on a two week cruise and I plan to do the same with the watering and hope for the best. I am more concerned about the temps. Presently it stays 60 to 65. We have a house /pet sitter but don't want to freak her out with orchid care. Kennel fees for two dogs is much higher than replacing a couple orchids. LOL Bill
