how and when do you repot a Sobralia?
Like most orchids, it is recommended to report sobralias when in active growth. You should repot in a medium that meets your watering schedule and needs. There are many articles in the OrchidTalk library on repotting orchids as well as a couple on the Orchid Care pages of RVO. Good luck.

Hey Bruce my sobralias are in fast draining mix because I'm afraid ill overwater. Will this work if I water them three times per week?
Hi CJ. Your sobralias should be fine as long as they drain enough to dry off before you water again.

Thanks!
Choose a fine potting mix, such as fine fir bark or coconut husk pieces, or pot them in sphagnum moss. You want something breathable but that doesn't dry too quickly. It should be fine enough to keep terrestrial orchids' roots happy. The best time to repot is after it finishes flowering. Dividing these orchids is a good way to propagate them, but they like to remain in a large clump; I wouldn't split them into pieces smaller than half a dozen to a dozen growths.
I'm new to this website and was not aware of that "Orchid CARE pages of RVO". All good stuff......thanks!
