    Default Confused Catt. percivaliana

    This species normally blooms around Christmas. This plant gave me a single flower in January, but now has 2 growths with 3 buds each. The first is about to open. I guess it's Christmas in June .

    Hi Susan...Not to worry...Just ENJOY it. From the looks of it, I'm sure that it will be wonderful. Wish all MY CATTLEYAS would kindly bloom twice a year! LOL! Betty :-)

    I would love such surprises !! By the way, have you cut off the sheath or it happened naturally?

    I cut the sheath off. The top of the sheath looked a bit twisted, so I didn't want to risk having the buds get caught and stuck. Some people cut sheaths on a routine basis, but I don't always.

    I'll take flowers any time I can get them . I did take her to my local orchid society meeting the other night and she did raise a few eyebrows and questions .
