Those are wonderful, Jordan! How great it is that you live in N.Z. and can grow these beautiful orchids... Does it ever freeze where you live? Betty :-)
hi betty, yes it does freeze, every winter! after the weather we had last week, where food crops were destroyed and millions of lambs killed by heavy snow from a cyclonic system larger than aussie, resulting in skyrocketing food prices, i wasnt sure if my arachs would come up or not. But lo and behold!
UPDATE dad ran over them with the lawnmower! and the stumps were chewed off by snails. They can never leave anything alone!

Sad to hear that, Jordan...Maybe you can get some beer & "invite" them to drown themselves! Your Friend, Betty...:-(
lol its all good, they will come back, seeing as conditions in NZ are right for them. its not the first time either, including an incident at christmas involving a bottle of beer! =D just as well they had finished flowering, although i was looking for a pod or two to break open and spread.
how is it possible? one of NZ'z more rarer orchids found growing in the middle of the city! Guess where? you will never guess where i found them in the city

Well Jordan, I'm waiting to be told "where" you found one of NZ's more rare orchids growing...! Please DO TELL! I can hardly wait... ( And, I hope that you did indeed rescue them?! ) Betty :-)
ok, betty, i found them in the most unlikely place, and it just so happens to be in the middle of a bark covered trafic island, and i will guarantee you, the local city counclil has no idea!
