I am not sure where this one should be posted. I purchased it last March. In April it developed three spikes which just stood still all summer. Finally the buds developed and have started to open. It spent the summer outdoors getting almost full sun. I water it every day. I was told it should be treated the same as a vanda. It is a rather hard one to photograph. Blooms resemble a small pea bloom and are long lasting.

You have a rare orchid there. Been looking for one for a long time but unsuccessful so far. It used to be classifidied as an Ascocentrum and although it is supposed to originate from our region it is a lucky hobbyist who can find one here in the nurseries. It is a vandaceous so culture for vandas apply. Your colour form seems to be darker than the norm.Thanks for posting.Is it possible to take clearer pictures of it?

Dykia hendersoniana is growing on Borneo island and my experience is, that this species need a warm and humid environment, also a little bit different then Vanda's.
My plants are mounted and two of them died, but the rest is doing (after one year in the culture) well.
Yew, it's funny I can get this species from Malaysia here in Germany and for you it's a problem to get one.

Would you be kind enough to tell me which German nursery (PM Please!) ? A lot of them visit us here in UK ,and have much better listings of species than the UK nurseries ( there is a reason, connected with the UK having a stupid interpretation of CITES which makes it ridiculously expensive to import from outside the EU - and your country has a more sensible approach).
But this looks to be a very floriferous species , and I have very suitable conditions for Vandas and their allies, so it's now on my wish-list .

I also had this once before but it died due to mite attack. Fortunately it managed to show me it's flowers to me several times and the flowers are neatly arranged in pink and white. Very nice plant you got there. Congratulations.
